Today's announcement acknowledges the anticipated long-term growth in this market segment and the continued pressure to raise airplane output to match expected market demand.
"Our customers continue to show their preference for the Next-Generation 737 by exercising order options as well as by placing new orders,&quo

Boeing sets 787 first delivery date for mid-first quarter 2011
lunes, 30 de agosto de 2010
The delivery date revision follows an assessment of the availability of an engine needed for the final phases of flight test this fall.
While Boeing works closely with Rolls-Royce to expedite engine availability, flight testing across the test fleet continues as planned.
Boeing said last month that the cumulative impact of a series of issues, including supplier workmanship issues related to the horizontal stabilizer and instrumentation delays, could push first delivery of the 787 a few weeks into 2011....
Quallion LLC announces fastest Lithium-ion battery on earth for the Boeing X-51A WaveRider
martes, 27 de julio de 2010
For this demonstration, Quallion developed an advanced lithium-ion system to power various components within the unmanned vehicle. The program chose to use a rechargeable lithium-ion chemistry over the traditional silver-zinc and thermal battery solutions to reduce ground maintenance prior to launch, which would allow for testing of the system without the need to replace the battery. Quallion developed a high energy density and high discharge rate pouch cell, which served as the basis for three separate...
Boeing elects to conduct inspections on 787s before flying
viernes, 25 de junio de 2010
An inspection and rework plan already is implemented for airplanes in production. For those airplanes requiring rework, we expect it will take up to eight days for each airplane. It is not unusual for these issues to arise in the course of production programs – they are identified, dispositioned and dealt with through our normal processes.
Reports that the fleet is "grounded" are incorrect. Boeing has made the decision to inspect the horizontal stabilizers on all flight test airplanes before thei
